Fahrenheit 451 round 3

The brutal act that is now going on in the section. A poor old women alone, is now becoming a burden upon the “fireman”.  Montag now faces the guilt and neglects his job. now the pages turn… Montag is doing and thinking things he has never done.

Reminds me of the time when I had to be the bearer of bad news when my aunt was getting married.  Although the situation Montag is going through is a bit more serious then telling a bride her groom is late but even though they are different they are somewhat similar.  I had the same tension as Montag during that time. Having to do something you don’t want to do. Like the feeling of wanting to throw the burden on someone else. The same feelings Montag had during this section.

A question for my readers is, have you ever had that feeling in your life?

Spring Break

Friday is always a good day but the Friday leading up to Spring Break just seemed so much better. It was the start to a long week full of random activities and good times, but I was sadly mistaking.

It all started on Friday, April 14th, 2014.  The fact I wasn’t in school that day made the start of Spring Break even better. I woke up to the smell of my mom COOKING! Which in my house is quite shocking.  She made me and my little sister pancakes and bacon. It was heaven on a plate! After breakfast my mom told us all that we were going on a trip in a few days. I wasn’t surprised when she said that our “trip” was to my aunts house.  My week of paradise was soon to come to a end. So I had at least three days of solitude.

My couple days of solitude were perfection. I got to eat so much junk food and stay up late on the phone and video chatting friends till the next morning. To me these were my fave days of all. Just because I didn’t have to deal with any annoying relatives AKA my aunts.

On April 17th, 2014 was the day of my Mother’s lovely trip. She woke me up at seven in the morning! I don’t even get up that early for school! What a shame. I was forced to get dressed and be ready by the time SHE wanted to leave. I didn’t even have to take a step down the stairs to hear my mother yell at my father. Which actually wasn’t that bad. Around eleven o’ clock we all decided to leave our happy home for the apartment of my aunt. And yes it was as bad as it seems. We spent three and a half hours in a small vehicle with my father blasting the AC. While I was trying to get my blanket my little sister decided she needed to serenade us with her lovely screams. So I put in my headphones and dosed off till we reached the house of terrors (my aunt). When we got there mother nature was not very happy. It was raining and raining everyday till Sunday. Which luckily was the day we left.

I guess the day we left was the best. On the way home we stopped for gelato. Which was practically heaven in a cone. When we were all finished with our fancy ice cream we continued our trip back home.

As soon as we arrived home I ran to my bed and took a nap without any hesitation. I was finally in peace. To bad my peace was soon to end again since the next day was Monday. Which meant no more break and more school.

Prometheus and Gaea

Ayn Rand renamed her characters Prometheus and Gaea. But who were Prometheus and Gaea?

Prometheus was a Titan (an elder god) in Greek mythology who was punished for his crime of stealing fire from the gods and giving it to humans.

Gaea is known as the mother goddess in Greek mythology. There were no other gods around besides her family members, so many of the gods she created were the result of “inbreeding.” She created many gods with her son Uranus.

My question to you is, why do you think she choose them as the new characters?
